Preparation of bread does not necessarily use yeast. The no yeast bread recipe is ideal when one desires fresh soft bread in a short period. Having only basic materials found in a pantry, it is not hard to cook, does not require yeast to rise and is a great complement to every meal. It is a simple, yet pretty handy dish suitable to sandwiches, toast, or even a simple, warm, out-of-the-oven treat that may be used by an amateur or a quick-time cook.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar optional
  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • Optional: herbs seeds, or spices for flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven at 3750F (190deg C) and grease a loaf pan lightly.
  • Blend Dry Ingredients: Add flour, baking power, salt and sugar to a mixing bowl.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Add butter and milk that is melted. Blend to a gentle mix; do not overmix.
  • Add-ins: Add in herbs, seeds, or spices to taste.
  • Pour to Pan: Spread the batter to the loaf pan that had been prepared and level the top.
  • Rest: Leave the batter 10 minutes so that the baking powder can be slightly activated.
  • Bake: Put in the oven and bake it between 20 and 25 minutes, or until the toothpick in the middle of it comes out clean.
  • Cool: Turn off the oven and allow to cool down to 5-10 minutes before cutting.
