- 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), sliced thin

- 1 Asian pear or ½ apple, grated (optional but traditional)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced

- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) or ½ tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
- Make pickles:In a large mixing bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated pear (or apple), garlic, ginger, green onion and gutujung. mix well.
- Mernet chicken:Add chopped chicken to the marinade. Toss to coat completely. Cover and cool for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Cook chicken:Heat vegetable oil in a pan or grill pan on medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing the excess liquid to drip. Cook in batches for 4-6 minutes per side, or until the chicken is carried and cooked completely.
- Garnish and Service:If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds and extra chopped green onions. Serve with rice, latus raps, or noodles.
