  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs

Buttercream:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–4 tbsp milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat broiler to 350°F. Oil two 9-inch cake dishes.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Include eggs one at a time, at that point vanilla.

  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 ½ cups (300g) powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Extra sprinkles for topping

For the Cupcakes:

  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder – ½ cup
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt – ¼ teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Eggs – 2 (room temperature)
  • Milk – ½ cup
  • Vegetable oil – ⅓ cup
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Hot water – ½ cup

For the Ganache Filling & Topping:

  • Semi-sweet chocolate – 8 oz (225 g, chopped)
  • Heavy cream – 1 cup
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons (optional, for extra shine)

Instructions

Prepare the cupcakes:

  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a sifted bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients gradually.
  • Slowly stir in hot water (batter will be thin, that is okay).

Bake the cupcakes:

  • Bake about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • And leave them cool.

Make the ganache:

  • To add shine, add butter, stir until it melts.
  • Leave the ganache to cool a little until thick but easy to spread.

Fill and frost:
